Keynote speaker: 

Dr. Wouter Welling is a sports scientist. He obtained his PhD in 2022 at the University of Groningen with the subject: “Return to sport after an ACL reconstruction. Are we there yet?”. Dr. Welling worked as an embedded scientist at a clinic in Groningen, from where he facilitated professional football clubs with testing, load monitoring, load management, return-to-sport, and prevention. Currently, he works in the rehabilitation and performance clinic “Pro-F” in Enschede. 

Dr. Wouter Welling has also been involved in many scientific studies and publications and he has extensive experience in translating scientific knowledge to the clinical situation in both a football and broader sports medicine context.

Program

Day 1:

Theory-day with the following topics:
Return to sports after ACLR – general introduction
Physical requirements: what’s important and how to test it?
Mental requirements: what’s important and how to test it?
Motor learning: implementation of implicit motor learning strategies
On-field rehabilitation: the bridge between clinical rehabilitation and RTS

Day 2:

Practice-day with the following topics:
Testing physical requirements
Testing psychological requirements
Test battery as a minimal requirement for On-field rehabilitation
On-field demo with a couple of examples of field training exercises in different phases

Venue

The workshop will be held in Athens and due to the interactivity in the training method it will take place in two different places (lecture hall, rehabilitation area and football field). On Saturday, May 31, the seminar will be held at the offices of the OSTRACON company in Elliniko, and on Sunday, June 1, at the Municipal Stadium of Byron.

Fee

Modern live education(lectures, videos, clinical practice) and interactive real-time practice.

The educational seminar is implemented in small groups of participants and lasts one to two days. It is based on a combination of modern live learning and modern live interactive real-time learning.

Modern life learning concerns theoretical and clinical practice and will include lectures, videos, the interaction between trainers and participants, and clinical and laboratory-practical education.

Modern real-time interactive learning includes the interactive application of therapeutic exercise with demonstration, simulations, and reenactments in real-time scenarios in the rehabilitation area and on the football field.

By completing the registration form and paying a 50% deposit, your spot in the seminar is secured. The remaining balance is to be paid during the seminar. If you cancel your participation, a full refund of the registration fee will be provided if done at least 15 days prior to the seminar, and a 50% refund will be granted if canceled within 14 days of the seminar’s conclusion.

Certification

Successful completion of the program leads to the award of a Non-Formal Education Attendance Certificate
